Meet the team
Liz Lucid, FCCA, AITI (CTA)
Liz is the Managing Director of Monaris Accounting and a Chartered Certified Accountant and Chartered Tax Consultant with over 20 years’ experience in public practice.
She particularly enjoys working with entrepreneurs and business owners, helping them deal with the practical challenges that come with running and growing a business. While her background is in audit, accountancy and taxation, much of Liz’s work goes beyond the numbers helping clients work through business problems, make important decisions and providing reassurance when things feel complicated or uncertain.
Liz is known for her practical and approachable style and for explaining complex financial and tax matters in a clear and straightforward way. Her aim is that clients should always feel comfortable picking up the phone, asking questions and talking through an issue without feeling that they need to understand the technical detail first.
One of the aspects of her work Liz enjoys most is helping businesses grow and resolving issues that clients may have struggled with for some time. Having worked with businesses for more than two decades, she has seen first-hand that successful businesses are built not only on strong financial management, but also on building strong relationships and having trusted advisers around you.
Outside of work, Liz enjoys spending time with family and friends, getting back to Monaghan when she can, and occasionally managing to switch off the laptop!

Jean Duddy, ACCA
Accountant & Portfolio Manager
Jean is an ACCA qualified accountant with over 20 years’ experience in accountancy and client service. As the firm’s Portfolio Manager, she plays a central role in both the day-to-day running of the practice and the management of client relationships.
Highly knowledgeable and experienced across a wide range of sectors, Jean has an exceptional ability to understand a client’s business, identify issues and find practical solutions. She combines strong technical knowledge with sound judgement and a calm, organised approach.
Jean is a trusted point of contact for many of our clients and is known for her responsiveness, reliability and approachable manner. Clients value her ability to explain matters clearly, resolve queries efficiently and make sure that nothing is overlooked.
When she’s not working, Jean enjoys relaxing with family and friends and escaping the spreadsheets for a while!

Eilish Deffew, (FCA)
Audit Co-Ordinator and Senior Accountant
Eilish is a Fellow Chartered Accountant with over 20 years experience in Accounting and Audit. She plays a key role in the firm’s Audit work, working closely with clients and other staff members to ensure that the audit process is well organised, efficient and clearly communicated.
Alongside Audit, Eilish works with clients on financial reporting and accounting matters, bringing a practical and thorough approach to every assignment. Her depth of experience allows her to understand clients’ needs and provide a professional, reliable and approachable service.
Outside of work, Eilish enjoys gardening and music and is happiest getting outdoors to unwind, usually with music playing in the background.
Alongside Audit, Eilish works with clients on financial reporting and accounting matters, bringing a practical and thorough approach to every assignment. Her depth of experience allows her to understand clients’ needs and provide a professional, reliable and approachable service.

Jessica Verissimo, ACCA
Accountant
Jessica is an ACCA qualified accountant who works across a broad range of accounting and tax assignments within the firm.
She supports clients with the preparation of annual accounts, tax compliance and ongoing financial matters, bringing a careful, practical and professional approach to her work.
Jessica is very well regarded by clients for her friendly, approachable manner and her ability to make accounting and tax matters feel straightforward. She takes the time to understand each client’s needs, responds promptly to queries and works closely with them to ensure they feel supported throughout the process.
Her strong technical knowledge, attention to detail and excellent client relationships make Jessica a highly valued member of the Monaris team.

Olivia Castle
Administration
Olivia is the Office Administrator at Monaris and plays an important role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the practice.
She assists with client documentation, administrative processes and the coordination of work across the firm, helping to ensure that records, correspondence and client queries are dealt with efficiently and accurately.
Helpful and approachable, Olivia provides valuable support to both our clients and the wider team. Olivia is also well known in the office for keeping everyone motivated with her much-loved treats drawer!

Sophie Le Cuiche
Payroll & Bookkeeping Technician
Sophie specialises in payroll and bookkeeping and supports clients with the day-to-day financial administration of their businesses.
She works closely with clients to ensure payroll, bookkeeping and related records are maintained accurately and on time, helping to keep their financial information organised and up to date throughout the year.
She enjoys knitting and other craft activities when she’s not at work.

Jenifer Valle
Trainee Accountant
Jenifer is developing her accounting career with Monaris while completing her professional training. She works across accounts, tax and audit assignments and is gaining experience with a wide variety of businesses and organisations.
Jenifer is an important part of the accounts and audit team and works closely with senior team members throughout the preparation and completion of client assignments.
Jenifer is always curious to learn and explore, whether that’s discovering people’s stories and experiences through podcasts and documentaries, taking on new challenges, or discovering new cities and countries.
